Susan Scarince Jones’ metal collage landscapes on display at the Washington Twp. Public Library

from Washington Township Public Library

During the month of February, Susan Scarince Jones, long time Long Valley resident, has on display her metal collage landscapes at the Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd, Long Valley, NJ. Susan has worked as a full-time artist in freelance advertising, illustration, package and gift ware design. Through the years, she has enjoyed teaching art workshops to children in Morris, Sussex and Warren County areas. Currently, she is focusing her time on her fine art, experimenting with a variety of new techniques. The natural beauty of the Southwest inspired her to explore the medium of metal collage landscapes. Texture and design formed on metal which as been exposed to the outdoor elements became the basis of her designs. She assembles the artwork by adding earth tones of gold, copper and bronze with acrylic paints and glazes, creating a unique expression of her subjects. Susan is a member of the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council. Call the Library at 908-876-3595 for further information. (from jerseyhappenings.com)
